Lead Mechanical Engineer

Role and responsibility synopsis

Candidates shall report to the Team Lead and will be an integral member of Operation & Engineering.

Role Intent 

  • Deliver mechanical engineering support for site operations day-to-day.
  • Deliver safe and effective operations by managing risks, addressing queries, and minor modifications activities.
  • Collaborates with the Brown Field Engineering team to identify and define engineering solutions to reduce risk and grow installed production capacity.
 
 Key Accountabilities 

 

      Candidate’s responsibilities shall include:

ü   Promotes a culture of open safety reporting and continuous improvement

ü   Provides immediate front-line support for Operations and Maintenance teams to resolve minor issues and escalate more significant issues to the Brown Field Engineering Team 

ü   Ensures asset Mechanical Engineering risks (both static & rotating) are understood, controlled, managed and reduced.

ü   Participates in a variety of asset and project risk assessments

ü   Input into anomaly assessment and resolution plans.

ü   Monitors condition monitoring data and health of static & rotating equipment and associated operating envelopes, recording and investigating all Safe Operating Limit excursions

ü   Monitors statics & rotating KPIs and initiates corrective actions as necessary

ü   Provides Mechanical support to technical MOCs and Engineering Queries

ü   Acts as technical interface with Projects and Modifications organization, including development of Statements of Requirements (SORs) and Project Initiation Requests (PIRs), and Decision Support Packages (DSPs)

ü   Supports delivery of Production Efficiency Improvement and Defect Elimination processes (including simple investigations for deferrals and vulnerabilities)

ü   Identifies production vulnerabilities and optimization opportunities to support production forecast and grow IPC

ü   Perform follow-up actions and observations from self-verification check that are related to Mechanical Engineering

ü   Participate in Startup Readiness and Assurance reviews

ü   Provides coaching to junior engineers

Criteria & Qualifications

Skills and Experience:

ü   Above 8 Years experience in the O&G industry (Preferable with IOC’s direct or contract)

ü   Professional (Chartered) Engineer Preferred

ü   Technical degree in mechanical engineering or allied engineering.

ü   Experience in previous asset engineering/operations engineering role

ü   Practical exposure to production facilities

ü   Excellent communication, interpersonal, and coaching skills

ü   Strong bias for being proactive and getting results

ü   Excellent IT skills – Office suite, document management, applications for CMMS, and Change Management.

ü   Contribute to an environment in which all team members are respected regardless of their differences and are motivated to improve both their individual and team contributions to achieve desired business results

ü   Skilled in behavior change management
