Piping Designer

Role and responsibility synopsis

Candidate will be reporting to Operations and Engineer Leads and will be an integral member of a multi-discipline engineering team to support Operations and Maintenance.

Candidate’s responsibilities shall include:

ü  Execute various Management of Change (MoC) operational based work scopes.

ü  Preparation and checking of all types of Piping or Layout design deliverables such as General Arrangement Drawings, Isometrics, Mechanical Package Drawings, 3D Models in PDMS, Piping Arrangement Drawings, Piping Isometrics, Material Take-Offs and PIDs.

ü  Carry out site surveys, preparation of Scope of Requirements, Scope of Work, Workpacks.

ü  Interdisciplinary check of all Civil/Structural/Piping/Mechanical drawings

ü  Review of vendor drawings for Equipment / Package items 

ü  Produce 2D and 3D drawings.

ü  To promote safe behavior always.

ü  Will be required to perform site surveys and data gathering exercises at various project locations.

ü  To provide discipline specific design and drafting services that meet the Project’s, and applicable statutory and regulatory, requirements.

ü  To provide technical support to the site team during design, engineering, installation and construction.

ü  Liaise with Lead Piping Designer or Lead engineer to identify deliverables issues to enable an accurate project plan identifying material lead time.

ü  To ensure timely delivery if drawings and documents asper construction schedule.

Criteria & Qualifications

Skills and Experience: 

ü  Diploma or HNC in Mechanical engineering (or relevant subject).

ü  Proficient in the use of AutoCAD 2D, 3D, Excel and Word.

ü  Experience using PDMS and other 3D software is preferred.

ü  Experience of Engineering 3D modelling software.

ü  Experience in CAD generation of P&ID, ISO’s Layout Drawing

ü  Must be able to work to an agreed scope, budget and schedule.

ü  Experience in the preparation and co-ordination of Mechanical and/or Piping design deliverables.

ü  Compliance with industry, international and client Codes and Standards.

ü  Maintain suitable records of correspondence and work completed for reference and auditing purposes.

ü  Knowledge of site-based project work involving field engineering and construction.

ü  Experience of working with multi-national and multi-cultural project teams is strongly preferred.

ü  Onshore Oil and Gas related Mechanical and/or Piping design experience.

ü  Thorough awareness of international codes and standards used for Mechanical and/or Piping design in Oil and Gas industry

ü  Experience with prefabricated, packaged plant design.
